We’re thrilled to announce new file organization capabilities in Copper that automatically sync with Gmail and Calendar and surface your important customer files across Person, Company and Opportunity records. And wherever you’re working, Copper now allows you to search for files when attaching them to emails.

Stop file hunting

You know the frustration that comes with searching aimlessly yet frantically for important files … leading to lost productivity and time-management breakdowns. We call that “file hunting.” And we’ve all been there.

Despite your team's best efforts to stay organized, files seem to hide from us. In your frenetic search, you've probably:

  • Inspected too many Google Drive folders, too many times
  • Input file names into search boxes everywhere (desktop search, Gmail, Drive)
  • Sleuthed your Gmail conversations and message threads, agitatedly scouring your Sent Items.

Having given up on your own digital search, you resort to bugging your teammates — exactly what none of us needs.

The wild (file) goose chase is enough to drive us mad, especially if you're not using a CRM. And if you are using a CRM, your team might forget to manually add files to the right records — and when you need that client proposal or report in a hurry, a missing file can be downright maddening.

This problem is more than annoying. It can damage your brand reputation — and bottom line. When you add the possibility of employee turnover, some important documents may disappear into the void, forever. This tangled mess can make your team appear disorganized and unprofessional to your clients.

You can end the file goose chase

With Copper’s ability to organize your documents by contact, you can:

Automatically attach files and Google Drive links from Gmail or Calendar to their respective records. You won't need to worry if your team remembers to upload files — and if a team member leaves, every file will be accounted for.

Surface files across your person, company and opportunity records. No need to open multiple tools to see all your files; you can record exactly what was sent, and to whom, without losing track amongst many sales calls and sometimes months-long sales cycles.

Attach files from Copper directly to your emails in Gmail. Copper makes suggestions based on files you commonly attach to emails, eliminating the hunting and pecking you used to do.

The vexing file hunt has been enmeshed into the fabric of our workday most likely since the invention of the printing press. Let’s eradicate this enormous distraction and productivity killer so that we can achieve more harmony amongst our teams, and arrive at the dinner table in time, winning. Our new file organization features are available in Copper now using our Google Workspace integration and Copper Chrome extension.
