Big news! We’re super excited to have made the 2019 Inc. 5000 list!
On this prestigious list of the 5000 fastest-growing private companies in the U.S., Copper is listed at #115 based on our growth rate in the last three years, which is a pretty great feat—we're in the top 3%!
This list recognizes the fastest-growing private companies in America, and companies that made the list have grown 6x on average since 2015.
(In comparison, the economy grew just 12 percent in this period. So we’re pretty pumped.)
By making this list, Copper joins a club that includes Intuit, Zappos, Under Armour, Jamba Juice, Timberland, Clif Bar, Pandora, Patagonia, Oracle, and other very cool companies. 🎉
“With the power of Google behind us, Copper is fundamentally changing what it means to be a CRM company,” says Dennis, our CEO. “This honor from Inc. Magazine is a testament to the path we’re taking in the industry and we’re excited to continue helping businesses build long-lasting customer relationships.”
Key to growth: delivering on our promise of being the first CRM for G Suite
Copper is one of the first software companies to go all in on Google. It’s a big bet.
Why do it?
Well, because it’s Google, and it’s a brand that’s renowned for being so easy to use that it has permeated businesses all over the world.
Google has shown us that enterprise-like software can be easy to use—and doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg. It can be used by small businesses too… and shouldn’t require you to log into dozens of different tabs or subject you to a clumsy user experience. These are all things that we believe too.
And even though it may sound crazy, we also believe that everything you need when you’re managing relationships can live right in Gmail (where we spend most of our day anyway) and G Suite.
We’re not just saying this because it sounds cool either—we’ve put our money where our mouth is.
Just take a look at our integrations with Google: Docs, Slides, Sheets, Hangouts Chat, and of course, Gmail:
It’s made us one of the fastest-growing companies in the U.S. so far, and we can’t wait to take it even further this year.
Who else is on the Inc. 5000?
Here’s a quick visual breakdown of all the companies in the Inc 5000. As you can see, IT, advertising/marketing, and business products and services make up the bulk of these fast-growing companies:
Fun fact: Most companies on the Inc. 5000 aren’t startups. In fact, about 80 percent of these companies (18,863) were more than seven years old and had a median revenue of US$6.9 million when they first made the list.
These "overnight success" actually took a lot of work—about seven long years of it, to be exact:
Age of companies when they first appeared on the Inc. 5000 list.
What’s next?
We may already be the most refined and true representation of a CRM designed for G Suite now, but we’re continually improving how Copper works and finding new ways to help businesses build long-term, valuable relationships. Not just with customers, but also with partners, investors, and more.
